Iconica Sketch Percussion plays back only bass drum

Hey folks,
I’m struggling to set up the playback for percussion instruments from Iconica Sketch in Dorico 5 Elements.

I’ve set up a Crash Cymbal player/instrument, applied the Iconica Sketch Expression and Percussion map in Play mode, and selected the (seemingly) correct playback template via Play → Template → “Iconica Sketch …”. I can write notes and everything is fine until I want to playback what I wrote because instead of the sound of a cymbal it plays back the bass drum. Tested it with other percussion elements and they all will playback the bass drum.

I can’t wrap my head around what else I have to do to get the correct playback sounds?

Sorry if this is just me being new to Dorico …

Since you’re just using a factory Playback Template, would you mind removing the music from your project (leaving the instruments as they are) and uploading here? We can then take a look at your setup.

You shouldn’t need to take any manual steps at all to get correct playback if you’re using the built-in playback templates. Simply adding a crash cymbal to a player should be sufficient. If you’re manually assigning expression and percussion maps in Play mode, you’re doing more work than necessary! So perhaps the first thing to try is simply to reapply the playback template: choose Play > Playback Template, re-select the appropriate playback template, and click Apply and Close.
