Hi All,
In Cubase, through all the audio processing, vsti’s, plugin effects, etc, am I to assume that a higher multicore processor is more advantageous than less cores with more speed? Or should I find a center point between the two?
I believe ram plays an important part also but right now, I’m in the market for upgrading processing power.

With a caveat, given the same CPU architecture, higher clock speed is better than more cores. A say, AMD FX vs an Intel i7 vs an Intel Xeon at 3.5Ghz will perform significantly differently and of course Cubase is the worst major DAW at scaling horizontally.
