If I upgrade from C4 to C6, where can I buy or obtain C5?

Hi,

I am running Cubase 4.5.2 on Windows XP SP3 (32bit).
I have a very stable system; and if it ain’t broke don’t fix it in my eyes.

I have a client coming round next week who requires me to work on OMF files.
C4 does not handle these files but C5 & C6 do.

I am a bit reluctant to upgrade or trial C6 in case C4.5.2 becomes unstable or unusable as I have a few jobs currently running on this.
As I understand it if I purchase C6, I then have the license for C5.

If this is the case, would I have to buy the C5 upgrade as well or could I obtain it somewhere else for free?

Any help please would be appreciated…(Anybody running C5 or C6 along side C4 especially on a 32 bit system?)

Am I missing something, or are these special OMF files, or why should C4 not be able to handle them?
You might try to run the C5 trial. Otherwise you’ll have to try and find someone who can providel you with a C5 install disc. Local distributor maybe?

Cubase 4 does not import or export OMF files, this function did not start until C5 came out.

I can not check this at the moment, but I don’t think this is correct. I’m almost 99% certain, even SX 3 supports OMF.

I stand corrected thinkingcap, you are indeed correct, C4.5.2 does import and export OMF files.
