I'm running Cubase 4.5.2 and I need OMF support. RESOLVED

Hi,

I am currently running Cubase 4.5.2 on my windows 32 bit PC. (Windows XP service pack 3).

I now need to be able to have OMF compatability.

I understand C5 has OMF.
It might be the end of 2011 before I consider spending yet more money on a faster PC running 64 bit with Windows 7 etc.
So my question is: what is my best option to upgrade now with my current set up to gain the use of importing and exporting OMF files?

I have downloaded the free trial of Cubase 6, will I be able to try this on my PC XP set up?
I do not want to lose Cubase 4, so can I install and run them side by side?

p.s. I want to avoid paying for the Cubase 5 upgrade now, only to pay to upgrade to Cubase 6 in 6 months time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

UPDATE 9-4-2011.

I stand corrected, C4.5.2 does import and export OMF files.

Cheers!

Yes it will install beside C4 and works on XP as long as .net framework is up to V3.5 (i think)

Thanks for your swift reply Split.

How do I check my net framework version?

Is there anyone else running Cubase 6 successfully on a PC running XP SERVICE PACK 3?

Thanks again…
