"Immersive Plug-in Hub" for Nuendo, please

Steinberg seemingly announced a new feature for Wavelab which many Nuendo-users like me have asked for since ages … the so-called “Immersive Plug-in Hub”:

WaveLab: The future of Dolby Atmos mastering | Steinberg

… let’s hope that a similar option finally finds its way into our so-called flagship application, too, now.

Hi Dietz, Nuendo’s main function is not mastering, Wavelab does a good job at that.
If you want that function you can buy the Waves Immersive plugin that now supports all VST 3 plugins. HTH.

I respectfully disagree to some extent. While WaveLab is indeed tailored primarily for mastering tasks, Nuendo transcends mere mixing and mastering…it’s essentially both disciplines amplified to an extreme level. As the comprehensive finishing suite, it expertly manages a wide array of elements including scoring, sound effects (SFX), music, and dialogue. This is especially pertinent in the Indian film industry, where songs frequently constitute half or more of a movie’s content, demanding seamless integration and handling. Simply importing timeline cuts into WaveLab isn’t feasible or effective for such multifaceted workflows.

I primarily work on musicals on film sets myself. You can use it for mastering if you’d like but it is not specifically designed for it.

Maybe just adding that I use Nuendo not for post-production but for immersive music. It is just the best DAW for creating/producing/mixing immersive music, in my opinion. In this perspective I welcome all that is multichannel. Such an immersive plug-in hub would be an excellent addition! (and I prefer to stay with Steinberg and not have to go to Waves).

For mastering I use Wavelab indeed.

 … considering that I use Nuendo since v0.9 Beta in 1999 one would assume that I should know what I use this app for, and how - thanks!

^^^^^^^^^^ This!

I’m not even talking about the whole Atmos-thing. A proper meta-plugin to combine plug-ins with less channels than the desired discrete output format would be a good start (eg. one 5.1 instance plus one quadro instance of a plug-in that does surround, but not 3D, for a somewhat meaningful 5.1.4 bus compressor. And so on.). For music production, Atmos is overrated anyway. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
