Impact Soundworks Bravura Scoring Brass: how does it work with Cubase?

Hi,
I’m wondering if anybody has purchased and used
Impact Soundworks Bravura Scoring Brass Complete? It says on their website that Bravura Scoring Brass works with the Free Kontakt Player. Individual ensembles and soloists are also available “a la carte” and require the Full Version of Kontakt. What I would like to know is, how does this work with Cubase? Is it installed like a plug-in? Does it show up on the right hand side with the other VST instruments? Does anyone in this forum recommend this brass sound library?

Thanks,

Rich

No. Kontakt is the VSTi and would show up there. Kontakt and not Cubase manages its own libraries.

I asked the MS AI to compare the 2 library types. One thing it missed is that the Full version can also load the Player Libraries

In summary, Kontakt Full libraries offer extensive customization and a vast range of third-party libraries, making them ideal for advanced users. On the other hand, Kontakt Player libraries are designed for ease of use with limited editing capabilities, making them suitable for beginners or those who need a more straightforward setup.

I think you ought to state for what purpose you want to use this library. Full on symphonic? Film soundtrack? Jazz band? &tc.
I use MOJO and NI Session Horns, so I have no opinion.

The information on the website said that it is used with the free version of Kontakt. Is this a good thing?

Beyond the price difference it’s kind of neutral.

So then, how do you incorporate it into a track if it does not show up on the right?

Production, music, film, TV, video games, etc. Sync licensing.

Load the Kontakt VSTi, then, in Kontakt, load your library.

Kontakt is an entire musical ecosystem on its own. If you decided to get the full version, it is more cost effective to buy it as part of a bundle with some libraries rather than standalone. I think the majority of DAW users would consider Kontakt (player or full) an essential tool. You should take some time to explore it on the NI site. Make sure to checkout the free tab.

On the right you will see All your Virtual Instruments. And for Steinberg VSTi’s you will also see the Presets for those Instruments. But for 3rd party VSTi’s it will typically only show the Virtual Instrument and not its Presets which are managed internal to the plug-in. So it’s like @Googly_Smythe said you load the instrument and then from the instrument you load the sound you want.

Thank you very much for your input! I really appreciate it!
