Why we need this:
Right now, using third-party OMR software like ScanScore, PlayScore, or Audiveris is a clunky workaround. These tools are either very expensive, require subscription models, or need multiple steps just to get a simple PDF into Cubase.
A native PDF import directly into the Cubase Score Editor would eliminate this entire detour. It would make Cubase the absolute leader for composers who work with traditional sheet music and digital DAWs.

Have you tried asking an AI to convert the score into MIDI?
I recently wanted to play around with a song I wrote ages ago at a time when I apparently thought I’d always remember a song’s chords so there is of course no reason to even write them down. Rather than trying to transcribe them myself I thought I try giving Claude an old recording and have it figure the chords out. It nailed it in a couple of minutes total.
I don’t think so. Composers use pro score programs to make scores; programs like Dorico, Sibelius et sim. Cubase’s scoring features are too limited at the moment.
True. I say full PDF support for Cubase; including your request.
And a new notepad that is a pdf reader/editor, that exists as a tab at the bottom, with a sister vsti version.
