Import a midi file into a keyboard

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to import a midi file that containes the notes from a percussion instrument. I would like to have the notes in a grand staff, I.e. a piano instrument.

I haven’t been able to change the instrument from percussion set to a keyboard instrument, in the import options.

I would like to import the raw midi notes into a piano instrument without any notation interpretation, just to use as a “dummy track“ for sound purposes.

I have important defile into my DAW, Studio One, and I can see all the notes on a piano Grand staff. I have a sported it again from Studio One as a midi file, but dorico keep wanting to open the file into a drum set with a percussion map.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.

All the best

Hi @guitarlosjazz, I had no problem to change the instrument into Piano, in the Midi Import Dialogue (after changing to piano, I used all factory settings):

Here the result (galley view):

And the Dorico file:

Hi Cristian,

thank you so much for your help. It never occurred to me to double click on the name of the instrument in track.

All the best!!!
