I wrote a marching cymbal part in Cubase 15 Pro and exported it as MIDI. I then wanted to import it into Dorico as a single-line percussion instrument with four different playing techniques. I defined the four playing techniques in a percussion map and selected the standard “Marching Cymbals” instrument.
However, it appears that Dorico’s MIDI import supports percussion maps only for percussion kits, not for individual unpitched percussion instruments (the percussion map option is disabled during import and cannot be selected).
Is it really impossible to import a single-line percussion instrument with four playing techniques (each assigned to a different MIDI key)?
