Imported Audio File Only Plays in Right Channel

So, File/Import / Import Audio File imports any stereo mp3 file, but it only plays back in the Right channel. The same file plays back in both channels using any available audio player, including Cubase,

Steps

  1. Form within Tracks, use File>Import>Import Audio File and browse to any stereo audio file (I’m using mp3s).
  2. Play the file in the newly created track. Notice there is hardly any audio coming from the left channel.

Now using version 2.2.85, but 2.2.30 does the same thing. I’ve tried a couple of different audio interfaces and rebooting, but the problem persists. Am I missing a step to bring in a stereo audio if I need it to playback in stereo?

Just tried an import of stereo MP3 44.1kHz and it works fine for me. Ver 2.2.85.

Are you seeing the stereo image in the track display and does it show a difference in levels? Maybe you have a pan set incorrectly.

My mistake, I found that MAIN was in fact being forced to the right channel when I re-visited everything. You can close the issue.
