Imported audio files are truncated at the beginning

Whenever I import an audio file to the start of a project (Cubase 8.0.4) the beginning of the file is truncated and I manually have to slide open the beginning of the file and place it correctly at the locator. This is really annoying.

It seems to me that Cubase places imported audio files so that their first hit point (which is kind of random many times) aligns with the locator instead of the beginning of the file. So when I import a file to the start of a project the beginning of the file is just cut off.

Is there an option somewhere that defines whether the actual beginning of a file or the first hit point are used to place an audio event in the arrange window?

+1 plz ?
