Importing a single channel from multi channel wav

What would be a convenient method to import one (or a few) tracks from a multichannel wav file from the mediabay? (N13).

I am working on dialogue for a picture and I have all the raw audio files in the mediabay, mostly 8 channel multiwav’s. How would you import just one of those channels in your project? Would you just drag it to a multichannel track and then extract (split) the desired channel? Or is there an easier way to do this?

Any advice is appreciated!

Update: I explored the field recorder import tool and that’s doing the job for me. It could do with some improvement though.
