HI, could someone help me. I have recording a live band playing to a click track from backing files, I import the recorded files into cubase at 48Khz 16 bit and set the project up to that. the same click track i try and import but it is at 44Khz 24 bit but i use cubase to convert it to the project setting. I have tried all the setting i can find including musical notes wrapping… I would like to import some of the orignal back tracks to enhance the rrecording but they will all go out of time… can anyone help with what i am doing wrong witht he importing of the click track so that the back tracks will match… thantk you thick person of Cubase
Have you tried using the metronome in Cubase instead of importing the click track? Find out what the original click was set to and try setting the metronome to the same setting. Being a live recording you’ll have to go to the beginning of the actual playing to match.
Hi, the click track is one of the stems for the mixed backing track we play to live, so I want to remove the mono backing mix and replace it will the original stems. but the stems go out of time,
this is a bit long winded but i hope give what i am doing and easier to see what rokie mistake i am making… I down load backing tracks and use the ones we need as a mono file which plays in the right out and the click from that down load to the left. record it on a UI24R at 48 which is fixed and at 16 bit. I set up the project in Cubase with these setting and I take the USB out of the Ui24R and put it into my PC, I import each files and of course one is backing and one is click track, the rest are Bass, Drums etc… What i would like to do is simply import all the original back tracks as seperate stems, then delete the mono backing track… hopefuly giving me a better end result…BUT>>>> when i try and do this the stems are slightly out of time, and when i listen to the 2 click tracks they go out of time, when i import the backing tracks i do at the project settings so i thought there should be no differance… I have tride changing the import setting, 41,44,48 etc or the bit setting, even musical wrap but nothing gets the tracks in line if I move the backing track to the first beat or click by the 9th click its out… HELP…
Try going to menu/tempo track/tempo detection
I’ve used that to match up crazy out of time stuff
I was matching two totally separate projects both had fluctuating tempo ,trick for me was to run tempo detection on one tune and straighten the tempo up to for example 100 bpm .
Then do the same for the other project
Then export the tracks I wanted from the second project into the 1st project. Then you might have to zoom in and line them up till they match .
Something like that but it was a while ago ,it does mean learning how to use the tempo detection tool though but it is very useful.
You could Google how to match 2 unrelated songs in Cubase ,there are videos out there showing you

I would suggest to upload screenshots from these various stages of production. The more, the merrier.

I wish I could give you the correct procedure right now ,if I get time tomorrow I’ll try remember how I did it ,it’s quite simple when you know the correct way .
But like anything if you haven’t done it for a while.
If you are gonna mess about with the tempo detection tool ,just make a copy backup of the original project.
I once made a mess of a project
Open project with all the pieces of audio that are in sync with each other, don’t use the audio what is out of sync
Infact the audio what is the problem export it to a new project to be dealt with later .
Highlight your drum audio track
Go to menu project/tempo track/tempo detection
Press analyze . Done …if you turn metronome on it should now sync up.
Highlight all the other audio tracks ,then go to
Menu audio/advanced/set definition from tempo at this point I click “write definition to audio files”
All your audio tracks will now follow the drum track .
Go to the tempo track which was created when you activated the “tempo detection” and press the on/off button and deactivate the tempo track ,at this point you can set the project to go at any tempo you wish
You can test this by deactivated tempo track,then go to the transport bar, hover mouse over the bpm display and scroll up to increase of down to decrease tempo.
Activate the tempo track and the project will return to original tempo.
All the pieces of audio what are out of sync with this first project ,I would export that audio and open it as a new project and repeat what you did here .
You want both projects running at the same exact tempo which can be done by deactivating both tempo tracks and writing your own tempo in for example 100 bpm .
Then import the second project audio pieces into the 1st project.
Then use the the zoom tool or whatever to line them up . At this point when everything is lined up you could set all the audio to musical time base as we did before and everything will follow the drum track if you are wanting to alter the tempo track to a suitable feel
At this point you could activate the tempo track and the project should return to the original tempo ,warts n all.
Hope I haven’t missed anything out .I’m sure there will be an easier way but this is what I would do .good luck
