Importing Cubasis project in Cubase pro 10

Hi

I just got Cubasis and tried importing a 2-track project in Cubase.

The audio track plays fine.

I have purchased “classic machines” (drums) and used it on a midi track.
But on import, that track produces no audio in Cubase.
Any idea why?
Do I need to get and install that plugin in cubase as well?

Hi ohm-ish,

The Classic Machines are exclusively available for Cubasis, similar to a few other plug-ins.
I’d suggest to freeze the CM track to audio before exporting the project with Cubase. Plus, the MIDI track can be manually routed to another instrument.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Lars

Ok I see, thanks

Hi ohm-ish,

Where possible, effect settings and compatible instruments are loaded, when importing Cubasis projects with Cubase.

Where this is not possible, the track itself will be imported with no instrument/effect loaded, leaving you the option to choose a Cubase effect or instument. As mentioned before, In these cases it might make sense to use TrackFreeze.

There is a TrackFreeze setup option available, which lets you decide to keep the frozen audio track, after unfreezing a track.
This might be helpful, if you want to import both tracks, e.g. the original MIDI track and the rendered audio mixdown via Track Freeze.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Lars

Ok

Do you know why my usual visual setup in cubase is changed when importing a cubasis project?
Or, how can I keep the look I usually use?
Like which areas and functions are visible etc.
