Importing Multiple Takes of Multitrack Drums?

Hi guys, I’m sure there’s a Greg Ondo video that explains this somewhere, but I have drums that were recorded in PT. There were multiple takes, 16 tracks of mics. I would love to import the different takes into lanes so I can easily comp. I’ve tried putting numbers in the track names so they import in the right order, but dragging the files to the first open lane (with a folder in edit group mode) still doesn’t distribute the tracks correctly. It doesn’t even populated the correct lane on every track.

With snap engaged I can drag each track individually to the correct track/lane, I’m just wondering if there’s a quicker method? Even renaming the files takes too long. at least dragging them individually I don’t have to do that.

Thanks for input.

(edit) - I seem to be able to do 2 tracks at a time and have them insert correctly. I guess this boils down to sorting in the finder. numbers in front didn’t solve the situation. Maybe letters…

If I do 3 tracks - even if they’re in the right order in the finder, Nuendo doesn’t properly place the 3rd track.

Import the files to the Pool, then select them in the order you want them to be inserted. The order will be maintained. Position doesn’t matter as long as the BWAV Time Stamp is correct - the files can be “Move(d) To Position” automatically.

Disclaimer: I’m not Greg Ondo. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Thanks! I’ll try it
