The new music symbol editor is very helpful, so I replaced a breath mark with an alternative symbol. This procedure is very simple to do, but I have to do it with nearly 100 projects. How is the easiest way to “import” the new breath mark in all 100 projects? (For future projects I will store a template with the appropriate settings, clearly.)
There’s not really a good way to do this at the moment, I’m afraid. The only way you can do it at the moment would be to import the flows from each of those 100 projects into a project that already contains those items.
Thanks, then I think this will be the best way for the moment. There are additionally settings in notation options required, too.
I was looking for a way here as well.
FR: Make Symbol global, or make a global user symbols folder
In the 6 years since this thread, Dorico’s capabilities have increased significantly: there’s now a Library Manager, for example, which allows you to transfer custom notations and settings between projects, and import those things from both the factory default and user libraries into the current project.
