Imported MusicXML file from Finale. Piece starts with 1 quarter-note pickup. The way Finale managed that was to have two invisible dummy rests in the first measure before the pickup. In Dorico this leads to an unwanted 2 quarters’ worth of empty space in the pickup bar. How do I rectify that?
Hi @wconable, this needs only a couple of clicks to be corrected.
Please upload your Dorico project here, to avoid guessing what exactly is happening through the conversion from XML.
But what you probably need is:
- select the first visible note,
- deactivate the Start voice property override in the Properties Panel (the dummy rests will reappear)
- activate Insert Mode in Global Adjustement of current Bar scope (the fourth one)
- select and delete the rests
- Dorico creates the needed one-beat pickup bar for you (3/4,1)
