Hi there, I’ve made some demo material in Ableton, using a lot of Kontakt instances for samples. so for the horns, i’m using Session Horns Pro from NI. All the horns parts are recorded into one track, and session horns pro automatically assigns the voices to each individual horn player.
So now my question is: how do I export the midi file into Dorico, and assign the the voices to each individual player in Dorico, preferably with the Dorico player using the exact sample from Session Horns Pro?
I don’t know if Dorico can pull this off, it seems a bit like the black slope to me…
but if anyone can help me out on this one, your help is greatly appreciated! best
You can’t do it in one step: first, import the MIDI file into Dorico, and using the MIDI Import Options dialog, make sure that every track is assigned to the appropriate instrument type. If you’ve already created a playback template that uses Session Horns Pro, you should be able to then simply apply it to the resulting project. If not, you should go to Play mode and manually assign the sounds to each instrument.
