The Proofreading panel warns about a ‘Fine’ marking that does not coincide with the played end of the flow, but it is not selectable because it’s positioned at the first rhythmic position. How should it be selected and removed? I attach the issuing file.
Now you should be able to delete it. (the fine signpost)

I have to ask: How did you get it to display? “Set All Signposts Shown” didn’t expose it.
Wow, great! Thank you! ![]()
Anyway, is this the expected behavior of Repeat markers at the start of the flow, @dspreadbury?
Hmm, I am still unable to reproduce your solution by myself. I cannot filter by Repeat markers after selecting all. ![]()
But even so, I don’t get a Repeat Markers section in Properties after Select All…
Ah, yes – system track select gets that section to show in Properties. Good call!
“Final” marks behave differently from other Repeat Markers, because they are right-aligned to their anchor point. So, if the rhythmic position is beat 1, then “Fine” (also Da Capo etc) will appear before that, which isn’t possible on the very first beat of a Flow.
You can have a Coda or a Segno on the first beat, easily.
Arguably, having Fine or Da Capo at the very start of a piece makes no sense, and Dorico ought not to allow it.
Of course, I agree with this:
But the file was given to me with an accidentally placed Repeat Marker at the start of the flow, and there was not an obvious way to see that it was there. I was asking whether this invisible element situation could be improved by, maybe, showing the popover when it cannot be rendered at all—mainly to avoid having a potentially hidden unexpected behavior.
Anyway, problem solved—thank you all! ![]()
I was able to select and delete the Fine marking by inserting a Segno at the start of bar 2, then pressing left arrow (while the Segno is still selected, of course) followed by Delete, and lastly deleting the Segno.
