Since some months ago, I got an error when trying to update Halion 7.
I got error message 1603 when trying to either update or uninstall (to prepare for a fresh install) through Steinberg Download Manager.
If I try to remove it via Microsoft’s own app manager, I instead get the message “The installer has encountered an unexpected String installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The String code is 2330.”
Various attempts to google String code 2330 hasn’t given me anything.
At first I just ignored it and thought, “who needs Halion anyway”, hence the months of it not working. I thought that a future update would make things fall into place, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Have been trying every now and then with the same result since spring this year.
Now I’m entertaining the thought of just going in and manually remove all things Halion-related in the file manager. Since such adventures tend to become messy, I reach out here first to see if there is some reasonable solution to this problem.
