Improve syncoped rythm notation

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know if there’s a notation option to automatically renotate the second stave to match the first one? I’ve imported a piece with a lot of this rythm and would prefer not to manually renotate it using the force duration feature. This is in 4/4.

Thank you for your help

Thanks for your answer
In notation options I have tried many options without success.
[2+2+2]/4 give me a 6/4 not a 4/4

Try [3+3+2]/8

Thanks for your help.
I managed to improve the notation for this rhythm, but it altered other rhythms in the process, making things worse overall. The time signature has changed from 4/4 to 8/8. I simply want all quarter notes and dotted quarter notes to be notated entirely without any ties.

Of course it will alter other rhythms - it sets a new rule for note grouping.

What you are really asking for is different rules for different rhythms/notations at the same time. You will have to force one or the other.

(BTW You can hide the 8/8 if you want)

If one instrument predominantly has that rhythm you could use an independent time signature for it, and that will leave the other groupings alone.

I found a solution by alternating time signatures (4/4 + [3+3+2]/8) , and then hiding the time signatures. It’s a bit tricky, but it works.
I still have rythm to adjust manually but its better now

To the Teams and @dspreadbury, I think a search and replace feature for rythm would be usefull in this case.

Thanks everyone!

It amazes me the lengths some people feel they have to go just to avoid using force duration.

Not sure it was mentioned, repitching.

How so? The rhythm is the same… or am I missing something?

probably meaning, search for the “wrong” ones, replace with the right ones?

@rkrentzman
The force duration feature is useful when entering new music.
However, as said in the prevous post, in my case the music has already been imported into Dorico. This means I have to change all the individual rhythms manually. A global replace feature would be incredibly helpful in this situation.

@Janus
Ossy if it was not clear, but I was meaning a feature to automatically replace
