Overlapping midi parts are always mixed when played. When audio parts overlap only the topmost part is played. In some situations it would be an advantage if overlapping midi parts worked the same way. That would enable a midi part overlaying a repeating midi loop to “override” the midi loop for a short period. I hope that some day Cubase will have a “mix option” for each midi part.
The different mix options for midi parts should be:
- “Mix” : Midi parts below this midi part are also played.
- “Override” : Midi parts below this midi part are not played.
- “Override Notes” : Midi notes in midi parts below this midi part are not played. Controller messages in the midi parts below this midi part still play.
