Improved spectrogram and wavescope quality in Supervision

Hello.

Please improve the quality of the spectrogram and wavescope.
Currently, there are slight graphical jumps.
The moving image is not smooth.
Perhaps the frame rate is too low.
It’s eye-straining to watch.
This is clearly visible in Dom Sigalas’s video.
Time 6:48 spectrogram.
Time 15:58 wavescope.

This isn’t a fault of my graphics.
It’s visible in the official Steinberg videos.
Thank you.

hmm. I never noticed that on my end. I have a totally different colorset, and do not use the spectrogram.

Hello @Kris_Go, SuperVision by design always gives priority to the rest of the audio processing, and never tries to “steal“ resources for better graphics putting the audio at risk. This being said, there are a few optimization that can be disabled and may have an impact, you can try them out: When enabling the Quick Controls (QC button on the Plugin Window) then you can select the Advanced category and play with the 3 settings there and see if they have a positive impact or not. If this doesn’t help let me know and I will create an entry on our side. Thanks again!

I can’t use Wavescope because of its low framerate. I feel anxiety when I look at it. It’s really an unpleasant feeling, similar to a stroboscope effect and I don’t even have diagnosed flicker vertigo (but now I’m starting to think that I may have it).

Both on Mac and PC, same monitor 60Hz.

Would it be possible to have a switch that allows smoother/higher framerate? I was considering buying a 144Hz monitor with a hope that it would help but I wasn’t sure if it’s related.

Hi jbrolland.
Thanks for the tips.
I didn’t know about these features before.

In my case, enabling “Vst Data Transfer” increases the frame rate.
The image moves more smoothly.
However, there are still some jumps.

In third-party plugins, I can adjust the frame rate (range: 10 to 100).
In my case, 65 is fine.

Maybe Steinberg will program an option to adjust the frame rate.

Supervision is a brilliant concept.
However, it needs a few improvements.
