Improved VEPro8 V2

Dear Dorico Developers

I use VEPro quite heavily with Dorico and I have begun trialling VEPro 8V to display video. The basics work fine but I wonder if you would consider improving the integration between the two systems?

When composing a film score I usually work with one single large video file and multiple Dorico flows within the same project. Since offsets are not being sent to VEPro 8V I need to configure multiple timelines in VEPro 8V.

My request is:

  • Allow timecode (MTC/MMC) sent from Dorico to the external VEPro V8 system to be offset on a Flow by Flow basis. Currently the offset needs to be set in VEPro V8 requiring an new timeline for each cue. Currently any offset configured in the Dorico Video properties dialog is not sent externally.
  • Allow nudging of frames within Dorico to be reflected in the timecode sent externally to VEPro V8 so that the video stays in sync with Dorico.

There are a number of advantages to using VEPro 8V:

  • Streamers and Markers can be configured
  • DecLink Monitors are supported

Note that there are two ways of connecting with VEPro 8V: with their own VST Vienna Ensemble Pro plugin or the 3rd party TXL Timecode plugin.

Kind regards

James
