I’m working with a small string ensemble score (4/4/3/3/1), and I want to split Desk 1, solo 3, solo 4. I first tried creating desk 1 as a division, and the two solos as solo, but I couldn’t move the desk 1 above the solos.
Solved it by just creating all 3 as solo and editing the labels, but is there a practical reason for creating desk 1 as a division as opposed to solo?
Dorico always shows the solo division first. I’m not aware of other conventions in published music, though I daresay there may be some examples.
