Incipit without joined barlines

Hello,

I’d like to make an incipit that looks like this:

But I can only get it to look like this, with all the barlines joined. Is there any way to remove this joined barline?

Try selecting the bar line and pressing Delete.

Is this possible?

I can’t seem to select that bar line. Every other bar line can be selected, but not that one. I wonder if it’s not a “real” bar line?

I’d say that you are correct.

I’m not at my computer currently but are there any options for start-of-system barlines in Notation Options?

Unfortunately I do not see any options for this.
