Include send effects in default automation parameters

Please allow us to customise the default automation parameter list.

Or at least include send effect levels within the list.

Send effect levels are my most-used automation parameter.

Thanks!

TBH, there is no default automation parameters list.

Yes there is.

It’s this.

If you click on More, you’ll find the sends. They are included, it’s just that they’re under the “More” section.

And if for example you type “level” in this “More” section Filter field, you’ll directly get the send levels:

Yeah, I know how to automate stuff.

The point is I have to do a bunch of menu diving to get it done because - as per my original post - the default parameters don’t include sends.

As I’ve said, they are in the More section of the defaults. I think you refer to “defaults” as the ones showing in the very first page. I’ve only replied to show that they’re actually there, not excluded from the list. They’re just not in the very first page. Other than that, I totally get and agree that it would be nice if we could customize this first page.

I hear you, and you’re right. I’m using the term ‘defaults’ and perhaps that’s not entirely accurate.

Appreciate you chipping in and adding context to the issue!

Fingers crossed Steinberg make some progress on this in future point releases.

You might find it faster to just right-click the send in question and choose the “show” option:

I pretty much never, ever access an automation lane through the regular “defaults” menu, I always do a right-click to get it exposed.

You don’t have to use the menu at all.
Just click “W” on the channel (Write automation) and move the send.
A lane will be created for whatever you moved.

Only if you set that as a preference though right? Which means every time an automation lane is not shown and you start automating the parameter lane will be shown which might not be desired behavior.

This is totally badass - thanks Mattias! You just saved me a TON of time.

I’d still like to customise the parameter list as per above, but when I need to add a send level automation lane, the shortcut you just shared with me is probably an even more elegant way of doing it.

Thanks again!
