Inconsistent Condensed Part Label

I have a score with several condensed parts. All but two are labeled correctly (see attached): Flute 1, 2 / Oboe 1, 2 / Bassoon 1, 2. But the Clarinets have the numbers stacked below the name. Clarinet 1 is on its own line while Clarinets 2, 3 are condensed. In both cases the numbers are showing below the name. How do I make it so that the numbers are showing like the others: Clarinet 1 / Clarinet 2, 3 ? Incidentally, I did do a “Change Instrument” in the Setup Mode for all three clarinets as per a previous post suggestion. That did change the Clarinet 2,3 line from stacking “Clarinet 2” and “Clarinet 3” names on top of each other but created this current issue.

Thank you!

Your issue must be related to this, but I’m not sure to understand what you did… Do you mean you changed the instrument names?

You can get this without changing instruments/instrument names:

Prior to this current appearance, my clarinet parts looked like this (Clarinet 2 & 3 were stacked):

After I selected “Change Instrument” by clicking on the player name ellipsis, and re-selecting clarinet, I now have this:

I’m not sure how to now get the Clarinet numbers to appear next to the name like all the other condensed parts.

I can’t manage to guess what’s happening here without seeing the file, I’m afraid! Did you manually change the instruments names (or add manual numbering) at some point?

If you don’t mind to share a cut-down version of the project here (even just one bar and no notes, that should be sufficient), someone can take a look and help you.

Your question, “Did you manually change instruments…” caused me to wonder if perhaps that is the reason. I do think it is. After removing any manual numbering, doing a “change instrument” adjustment to all three clarinet parts, excluding them from condensing but then creating a “custom condensing group” of the 2 & 3 in Layout Options, that fixed the problem I was having. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
