Inconsistent staff and system spacing

I have this minor annoyance with inconsistent staff and system spacing. I know how to fix this manually (staff by staff and system by system) but is there a reason why Dorico so drastically changes spacing from one page to another? And is there an easy fix to get more consistent spacing?

Also, when I’m working with a new piece I prefer to have the exact same spacing throughout the score to get a better overview (this is before doing the final layout). Is there a way to get this temporarily? (The way the score would appear in Finale before making layout changes regarding staff/system changes)

Check these two settings under Library→Layout Options→Vertical Spacing→Vertical Justification

Layout Options > Vertical Spacing > Collision Avoidance > turn Automatically resolve collisions between adjacent staves and systems off.

You might prefer to work in Galley View (or Fill View), where the spacing is always even and no there is need to change any of Dorico’s options.

Sorry. I wasn’t very clear about this. I use Galley View when I’m working at my computer but occasionally I find it really useful to print out all the pages of a score and lay them out on a big table (or even the floor). A good way to get a good overview of larger works (especially orchestral).
