Increase gap between staff lines

Hi there,

I’m using an instrument with 3 staff lines as a way of only giving reference to the high, middle, and low registers of a specific instrument (contemporary scoring). I saw that at the instrument editor there is no option of choosing the gap between staff lines. So now I’m left with the normal gap between these 3 staff lines, but I actually need more space in order to write properly. If I try to make the staff bigger in layout options, it only increases the size of the whole staff but the gap between the lines remains the same.

Is there any way to do this in Dorico?

Only way is to use a percussion kit with 3 instruments, and with Layout Options→Players→Percussion set to grid. In the Percussion kit grid editor, you can set the gap between staves.

Unfortunately, you can’t tie lines to noteheads on percussion staves, so you have to edit them in Engrave mode.
