Increase staff distance in Galley view (feature request)

I find Galley View very useful when composing. However, as far as I know, it is not possible to increase the spacing between staves. This leads to numerous collisions between musical elements, which significantly reduces readability while working.

What makes this even more surprising is that in Fill View there is already a collision-avoidance mechanism for musical elements.

In my opinion, however, Galley View should allow users to manually increase the spacing between staves to improve readability and make working more comfortable.

I’ve seen also a trick proposed by @Christian_R on this subject, but it remains a trick that doesn’t solve the problem (or at least it is a cumbersome trick, since the user would need to change the score layout until the final engraving stage, whereas, in practice, a composer typically switches back and forth between Galley View and Page View many times while working on a project.)

This is, of course, a feature request rather than a bug report.

Library->Layout Options->Vertical Spacing. I think the idea is that galley view should be fast, so not do any automatic spacing etc…

I knew this function, but what I mean is to do it manually on a staff-by-staff basis

Yes, that would be useful.

I agree with having user adjustable staff spacing in Galley view that can be adjusted between individual staves of the user’s choice. That can be helpful in a number of situations.
