Minor request/issue here. Something I haven’t experienced any issues with up until C15.
When I open a MIDI part in the Key Editor I can normally see clearly where the part begins and ends because it shows the black/white keys, contrasting with what’s outside of the boundaries.
But if the MIDI part is within the Cycle region (active or not) there is barely any contrast, no matter what I set my colors to.
It’s just annoying and makes it a bit more difficult to edit MIDI.
I hate to tell you this, but Steinberg did this on purpose. Several of us have been complaining about it since the update released. We all thought it was a bug until Martin said it is a “bug fix.” I tried everything including reinstalling Cubase… until I found out Steinberg considers this new shading for the key editor a “feature.” I hate it, working with midi just got infinitely harder to see.
I noticed this yesterday - almost imposible to see the region covered by the midi part in the timeline. I couldn’t find a setting to change this in prefernces. This hasn’t been a problem on all previous versions - just 15.0.20 - I haven’t changed any colour preferences between versions.
There is no setting to fix it, as Steinberg made this change on purpose. It makes zero sense. I’m sure we will see more and more complaints about this change, as more people take the update. I hate it, and I haven’t felt creative since this happened. I do love the folder groups, though.
