Hello VST Live team,
I would like to suggest a feature that could be very useful for many live performers.
Currently VST Live allows selecting only one ASIO audio device for the entire application. This works well in most situations, but it can be limiting for common keyboard-and-computer live setups.
For example, I use a Yamaha MODX as my main audio interface. The main mix is sent from the MODX to the FOH mixer, but I would like to send the Click track, Cues, or Monitor feed to the laptop headphone output.
At the moment this is not possible because VST Live can only use a single audio device at a time.
Feature Request:
Allow independent audio device assignment for:
Main Output
Click Output
Monitor/Cue Output
Example:
Main Output → Yamaha MODX ASIO
Click Output → Laptop Headphones (Realtek)
Monitor Output → Secondary audio device
This would be especially useful for keyboard players using:
Yamaha MODX / Montage
Roland Fantom
Nord keyboards
Workstations with integrated audio interfaces
who need a private click track without sending it to the main PA mix.

You could also send the slate to a track on the mixing console via the headphone output.
I’m not sure what windows does, but MacOs supports the combination of 2 or more audio devices to one combined device, which you can use in VSTL.

Easiest to purchase an audiointerface with enough input-outputs. (OSX can aggregate multiple devices - as @Falfango said -, but that is immediately introducing latency, anticipated for live performance)
you are right, if you just aggregate it without syncing the audio devices directly with wordclock. In case you have synced it, additional latency is below 1ms and usable.
I have one, but I didn’t feel like carrying more gear since the Yamaha MODX mixes the keyboard sounds and the VSTs really well.
I don’t think the latency would have mattered to me anyway, since I only have layers. We would have all followed the click track and that would have been fine.

So, you’re running VST Live on macOS or Windows? 
Yamaha/Steinberg UR44C with main output and two additional outs. Plus two headphone outs. The beast I use live.
This is the setup I would like to have, with the monitor output on the laptop’s headphone jack while the main audio continues through the Yamaha MODX. Unfortunately, I understand this is not currently possible.
You can’t use Headphone + USBaudio out in the same time w.o. latency.
So decide wheather you audio OUT to:
- phones out
- Yamaha MODX6
With aggregated they will produce extra latency (exept with expensive hardware-clocksynced-ones), else nothing to do, independetly from VL.
purchase a dual stereo out + dual MIDI I/O interface maybe?
