Is there a way to achieve the following multi-bar rest in Dorico 5.1? The point is to convey an open-ended rest, no sense of time or measure.
I was hoping to be able to hide a multi-bar number, but I don’t see how.

Hi @tenfour, you can use a line inside the staff, and then set the opacity /alpha of the bar rest to 0, and apply a fermata to it. (It depends of course if this really only one bar in a solo piece, or there are really multiple bars with other instruments/players also):
