No time frame has been announced yet for this feature.
Actually yes, even now the tempo already gets passed on to the plug-ins, but only once at the beginnig of the first flow and only if in fixed tempo mode.
The time signature is not yet transferred, but I recently implemented that, so it will become available with the next Dorico update.
Ah, sorry, reading again @spukipuki 's question, and talking about tempo changes, yes, tempo changes are not yet forwarded to the plug-ins, that’s right and there is no schedule for that feature either, yet. It is quite tough and not so easy to implement. Even the implementation in Cubase on that end is rather poor. It’s feasible but requires quite a bit of thinking.
Hi Ulf, have you made any progress with tempo changes sync in the meantime? ![]()
Unfortunately no, not at all. I’m always busy with so many different things,
and if the issue is not on high prio, then it has hardly the chance of being looked at…
I’m sorry, this is not the answer you expected, but I cant give you any better prospect.
Cheers,
Ulf
How to vote for it getting higher priority? ![]()
I am using Berlin Strings, where there are a few tempo synced articulations, but they play back in the wrong tempo, which of course breaks the music.
That could be also an issue on plug-in side. Because we don’t selectively send tempo information to only certain plug-ins but to every plug-in, no matter if the plug-in needs or implements it.
Certainly, I apologize for not being clear enough: The Sine player accepts the initial tempo, but when it is changed during playback, the repeated 16ths (which I currently use, there are also tempo synced runs) are in the original tempo, not the one everyone else plays…
I acknowledge your workload, and of course I have no idea what resources are needed. FWIW, I just want to cast a vote for this feature (live updates of tempo) and provide a use case. Thanks for your quick reponse anyway ![]()
We don’t have such kind of voting system, but as you did, you can raise your voice here in the forum, and the more people add to this thread or new ones, we get a sense of importance. Daniel reads everything in the Dorico forum, I only the stuff corresponding to the audio engine, but I think we have a good sense of our user’s needs, which we have to balance out.
