Input Monitoring

In the manual it says when recording a track the input monitoring level (not the level of the signal but the level of what you’re hearing) can be controlled from the mixer.
How is this possible ?

Basically in Cubase you have input track and audio track.
Adjusting volume on input track will adjust the recording level and adjusting volume on the audio track will adjust the monitoring level.

Are your inputs “visible” in the mixer?

By moving the audio track fader.
