Seems to be there is no solution found for the problem. I have the same issue , focusrite , m2 mac. Cubase 12 do not records any sound, everything is checked triple times, OS update done. Live is recording, Cubase 11 is recording 12 is not. Seems to be it’s a Cubase problem and no one gonna fix it. Maybe its time to go out of Cubase and not pay 100 euro every year for nothing.
It is a problem with the Mac, enable the microphone access for Cubase 13.
If you are still on Cubase 12, you didn’t pay money in the last two years, I guess.
It might have to do with the privacy settings in your Mac preferences. Go to:
System Preferences → Security/Privacy → Privacy → select Microphone → Enable Cubase/Nuendo
