is there a different way (or an option I can change) to be able to input the dynamics and hairpins how I want, rather than DORICO placing them
always at the beginning of the note ? (See video)

…btw the screen capture program didn’t catch the cursor…I was trying to place the MP on bar 3…
How did you try to input the mp?
In your case, i would edit the pp< by double clicking it and changing it to pp<mp in the popover.

Sure, you select the note, which starts where the piano is. That’s why the dynamic is put there.
