Inputting notes in octaves

Is there a way to input a line and then duplicate it on the same staff at the octave?

I’m entering Bassoons in octaves and would like to enter one line and double it an octave lower.

Select the notes you want to double, open the Note Tools popover with Shift+I, type -8 and hit Enter.

Although if these are two separate bassoons, and you’re going to want to print separate bassoon parts, you probably should have two bassoon players, each with its own staff, and then let Dorico condense them in the full score.

Thanks! Normally, I would agree with you, but I’m entering a score so I can do a reduction. Eventually, the bottom line may be covered by another instrument.
