Inputting with midi causes playback to be wonky

I am experimenting with inputting notes in real time with my midi keyboard. When I press play for playback it seems as if what I hear isn’t the program interpreting the notes based on whatever algorithm it uses, rather it sounds like my playing. That is, it is very wonky and slightly out of rhythm (I recorded at half speed, I have a fair amount of lag, and I am a halfway decent pianist, emphasis on halfway).

Is there a way to reset the midi so it sounds normal? I am doing this for a mock-up so this is sorta essential…
