Inquiry about adjusting instrument name position

How can I adjust the position of the instrument names that automatically appear at the start-of-staff?
(I want to adjust the individual instrument names.)
Please tell me how to position the piano forte name in the center.

What do you mean for “adjusting” @k.k ?
You can edit the name at your will…:

That’s right, how do I move it?

Well. But why are Violini 1 aligned too low in relation to the staff ? (Violini 2 are correct, if not a little high)

That’s why I asked

Edit the name in Setup

Violini2 are in their standard position (untouched).
I added a couple of rows in front of Violini1 (first jpg) and some blanks after (second jpg)

Please refer to the picture.

Ah! You added a picture
Dear @k.k, if your player has a piano instrument you don’t need any adjustment

Otherwise, if you have two separate players, you can blank the second and add blank rows to the first with the name “Pianoforte”. But why?

I want to align the instrument name with the center of the brace.

Where can I find the instrument name inspector in the menu?

For a piano it’s automatically aligned as such.

Look at my first pictures please…

How can I align it when it’s not automatically aligned? Is there a way to move it manually?

You can’t move the name (afaIk) but just edit it.

Ooops sorry: do you think that my Pianoforte name in my third picture is wrong aligned? It’s the default position for Pianoforte. Is yours different? I imagined you had two instruments, but probably you have just one piano!
If you think it’s a bit high, you can add a blank row with any character size to its name, but I never did it, because it was never a bit high…

With default fonts and the default Pianoforte instrument, the instrument name is centered correctly on the bracket.

My suspicion is that @k.k has edited the instrument name, and having typed “Pianoforte” hit Enter/Return, assuming that that would confirm the entry. What that’s actually done is add a line break that is invisible in the Edit Instrument Names dialog (as there’s no visible cursor). The solution is to go back into that dialog, position the cursor immediately to the right of Pianoforte and type Delete (on a full size keyboard) or Fn-Backspace on a standard Mac keyboard (I’m not sure what the Windows equivalent is, but this is the Delete key that removes items to the right of the cursor rather than the left of the cursor).
Then use the mouse to click OK and leave the dialog.

Thanks Leo! I didn’t consider your hypothesis just because @k.k continuously asked about editing, but probably you are right.

Thank you!
I didn’t realize I had pressed Enter.
