Insert Bar at Cursor For All Track Shortcut/Macro

Hi All, I am currently add shortcuts, key command, macros to my Loupedeck Live.

I have the Streamdeck previously but sent this back within days of using as I couldnt get away with the tactile feel of the buttons. They would also often stick down and pop up seconds after being pressed. Loupedeck feel premium in comparison.

So back to my requirement. I simply want to insert 1 bar at the current cursor position on all tracks. I have looked at creating a macro within Cubase (14 Pro) but after various trial and error I am not getting the result I need.

If this is not possible with key command macros, Is it possible in Logical Editor, I dont think so?

My last effort involved using insert silence and nudge but again could only get it to work in conjunction with range selected.

Loupedeck does allow macros to be created within the device and can be seperated with delays. This allows you to string together several shortcut keys etc. However even with this I am not seeing an obvious way to do this.

Would love some help and advice. PS I have searched through posts but not found anything that looks like it would help.

Hi,

Edit > Signature Tracks > Process Bar Dialog…. Set Start Bar and Length in Bar.

Or you can set the Left and Right Locators and Edit > Range > Insert Silence. I believe you can make a Macro out of this. Something like:

  • Set Left Locator at Cursor Position
  • Nudge +1 Bar
  • Set Right Locator at Cursor Position
  • Edit > Insert Silence

Hi Martin, many thanks. The macro you listed is pretty much what I tried to do. However I did not manage to find the key commands. I did think they should be there somewhere. I will check again when I get home.

many thanks

Hi,

These are the exact categories and names:

  • Transport > Set Left Locator to Project Cursor
  • Transport > Nudge +1 Bar
  • Transport > Set Right Locator to Project Cursor
  • Edit > Insert Silence

:ok_hand: Thanks again.

Another case for allowing to pass on arguments for commands for macros:
Process Bars (ProcessType, StartBar, BarAmount, TimeSignature)

Works a treat, many thanks. Now I have the set left and right locator commands I can create many more macros I need.

thanks again.
