Insert Flows?

I can’t believe I can’t find this. I have a large piece imported from XML that needs to be broken up into movements/flows. How is this done?

Use Write > Split Flow, all the way at the bottom of that menu. (Or Split Flow from the jump bar.)

You probably know the answer to this follow-up: in the new flow, one instrument changes to its double (Picc to Fl). How do I make that happen?

Probably what you want to do is start with the single large piece and set up your instrument changes (one player holding a flute and a piccolo, with the appropriate music in each staff in Galley view).

Then when you split the flow, that player continues to hold the 2 instruments in each, even if some flows only use one of the instruments.

I didn’t quite comprehend. Should I create a separate line for each instrument the one player is using?
