Insert measures with different time signature

How do I insert a measure with a different time signature, without having the following measures changed? For example, I’ve written 3/4, 3/8, 2/4, 2/4, 3/4. I want to change the first 2/4 to a 3/8. I’ve tried with and without insert mood.

Add 2/4 explicitly to the second 2/4 bar, then change the first 2/4 bar.

The principle is that if you want to change a time signature for only a certain range, you need to add an explicit time signature change at the bar following that range.

If I follow these steps, something goes wrong (with and without insert mode)
Picture Two is the start. On Picture One I added a 2/4 to the second 2/4 bar, and changed the first 2/4.

In your fourth bar (with just the single 8th note), you can type shift-B, then -1. That will get rid of your extra unwanted bar.

In this specific case, I would think a very easy way to do this is to use the System Track for adding the 3/8 measure and deleting the 2/4 measure. The System Track effectively adds time or subtracts time. This excellent video by Anthony describes it.
