I tried to eliminate 4 bars of an arrangement on the & of 4, but it didn’t subtract equally.

Did you select those bars using the System Track? (seems ideal for this situation since you can select subdivisions within a bar). Presumably with Insert mode on it would afterwards then move the notes after the deleted section over to fill in the gap…

The problem with insert mode as is now is that it will move some voice (that are in the concerned area) but not others, nor chords or time signatures after the selection… while system track is supposed to do exactly what you are looking for, as D.D. suggests. You can use the alt key to select something else than full bars with the system track. I hope it helps!
