Hello,
I want to display a quarter note above the staff, so I used the Text Frame tool in Engraving mode to insert musical text.
It works, but it’s very cumbersome to manage in a score. Is there an easier way to do this? For example, I would like to add this as if I were placing an accent above a note so that it would follow the score exactly, regardless of the layout.

Much easier to use the font MusGlyphs, and place these as text items.
You can also make a custom playing technique.
You could replace an unused articulation, unstressed above, perhaps? Under Library->Music Symbols->Articulations.

I think Dan’s and Jesper’s solutions are better, but you can also enter high notes in another voice and hide the ledger lines (and disable playback if needed).
