Insert only a pickup

Hi! I’d just like to put a pickupbar of only one eight note at the front of my piece, without changing anything in the piece. i know it has been explained here but I can’t find it, so if someone would be so nice to explain it once more, I’d be grateful!

I’d say the easiest way is to trigger the caret on the first beat, activate Insert Mode 4th scope (Global Adjustment of Current Bar), and enter your 8th:

And don’t forget to switch off Insert Mode once you’re done!

So the repeat bars disappear, there’s no pickup rest in the piano, and the entire upper staff gets empty.

And what happens if you choose another method: insert a full bar, enter your upbeat, activate Insert Mode 4, and delete the rests?

How can I remove the upbeat without distroing everything?

Keep Insert Mode 4, select the note and press Delete.

(Or just Ctrl+Z)

Ctrl+Z doesn’t do the trick, as I remove everything I did since the last question. As you’ve probably guessed, I’m on a deadline again working all night through.

But, I tried something else: for some reason (I don’t dare to say the word “bug” anymore) Dorico put “start voices” at the piano, so I removed them by hand and put in the accidentally (probably not a bug) removed repeatregion by hand. Now everything is cool. I don’t know why this happened though…

The disappearance of the bar repeat region is reproducible, when you insert something before it.

It does not matter which insert mode is used.

I’d consider this buggy.
