I think this was introduced with C13.
Anyway, the thing ist that the names of insert plugins use all the width as long as the track width is under a threshold. As soon as you reach that threshold the buttons for bypass and edit are shown permanently. This reduces the width that the name is using. The result is that the name of the plugin is often cut off yet is was fully shown before even with smaller track width.
I can see why you decided to do that. But to me this is unnecessary and comes with the cost of GUI aesthetics and readability.
In other words: If you hover over the plugin names you see the buttons anyway. I wan’t the little space I have for the names of the plugins and not for all of the redundant buttons that we all know where they are.
