How do I insert a blank measure of 4/4 just before the compound time signature? Every way I know messes up the music that is already there. Thanks.
Select barline.
Shift-B 1 (adds a new 6/4 bar)
Select the new barline
Shift-M 4/4 (splits the 6/4 in two parts a 4/4 and a runt 2/4)
Select the runt bar rest
Shift-B -1 (removes that bar)

(There are a number of different ways to do this. I offered a simple, if slightly unintuitive, one. Others may have better solutions)
