Inserting and interpolating bars inside beat mapped project

Arranging a longer music video with a musical live performance I need to insert 2 bars in the middle section
I already created beat mapping all around.

Does Cubase give a chance here not losing all the work?

These features are meant for that purpose:

Would you see some limitations timealigning bigger projects in destroying already done work on the left or right side of the timeline? I would like to go so far arranging longer recordings/videos after having timealigned corresponding several bars? Making transcripts or writing educational material in score etc., which would be the bigger picture here

Imagine transcribing west side story - the film peu à peu
I would not intend starting rigidly left and finishing right for that matter in the timeline. In such projects you will come to editorial situations where you would have to re-interpret some older work done or refining it, I guess

Every project is different, plus there is a learning curve and what you describe sounds very challenging for Cubase. I think Cubase can do this, but it would require advanced familiarity with the program.

So you should back up your project using the Back Up Project function, make sure it is safely saved.

Then you can experiment with the functions in the original project, while being sure not to touch the backup.
